The SBU, right during the service, detained a military man who was transmitting data on the weapons and air defense systems of Ukraine to the enemy.
It turned out to be a resident of Bakhmut, recruited by the Russian GRU even before the invasion. He provided intelligence information to the enemy.
After the invasion, he was given the task of going to the Dnepropetrovsk region and mobilizing.
Being in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, he collected information about the personnel of the units and the available weapons.
“In addition, the attacker tried to find the locations of the Ukrainian air defense system and new Western weapons,” the SBU said.
During the search, two phones were confiscated from the detainee, one of which was used exclusively for correspondence with Russian curators.
For the committed Ukrainian serviceman faces life imprisonment, according to the security service.
