The 23rd Malaysia-Indonesia Socio-Economic Sports Week (POR Sosek Malindo) in 2024 at the border of Entikong, Indonesia and Tebedu, Malaysia was attended by hundreds of participants from both countries. The sports activities between border communities were held in Entikong as the host.
“The sports week between the border communities of Entikong, Indonesia and Tebedu, Malaysia as a means of fostering friendship and strengthening relations between the two countries this time provided extraordinary enthusiasm with the large number of participants,” said Yulius Eka Suhendra, Chair of the 23rd Malindo Sosek POR Committee in 2024, Saturday (7/12/2024).
He said, the 23rd POR Sosek Malindo in 2024 held in Entikong was attended by 500 participants, both athletes from both countries. There were four traditional sports and three general sports competed, starting with joint gymnastics.
“We are grateful that the enthusiasm of participants from both countries, especially in participating in traditional games, is very high, and this is a strengthening of the bonds of brotherhood and cooperation as citizens of the same ethnic group across the country’s borders,” he said.
“Through Malindo social sports as a means of communication for border communities. It is hoped that it can encourage economic growth and establish cross-country cooperation,” he concluded.
