HONOR has been teasing the launch of its latest smartphone in Malaysia, the HONOR X9b, which is rumoured to be ultra tough like its predecessor, the HONOR X9a.

Videos have surfaced online, showing the smartphone being smashed on multiple wooden planks by mixed martial artist Li Jingliang.

Another video demonstrated the smartphone being shot with a paintball gun, leaving netizens curious whether the HONOR X9b is “bulletproof”.

NOT BULLETPROOF, BUT ULTRA TOUGH

HONOR Malaysia chief executive officer Justin Li said: “Currently, no phone is bulletproof, and consumers have no such demand.”

Nevertheless, the HONOR X9b comes with the HONOR Ultra-Bounce Anti-drop Display, which uses an inventive material that forms a shock-absorbing structure around the phone.

In fact, the HONOR X9b’s display is three times stronger than its predecessor.

“The HONOR X9b offers impressive resistance to drops of up to 1.5 metres and provides 360° protection to all six faces and four corners of the phone even if dropped on a hard marble surface,” said Li.

He added that HONOR wanted to solve consumers’ pain point of having smartphones with large, curved displays that were fragile and costly to repair.

“The best solution we can provide is giving HONOR X9b’s consumers the best warranty in the market – the industry’s first 365 Days Front & Back Crack Replacement, a warranty covering both the front screen and back panel of the phone,” he said.

The HONOR X series is well-known for its toughness and premium quality.

The all-new HONOR X9b has obtained a five-star all-angle drop resistance certification from Switzerland’s SGS, marking an achievement within the smartphone industry.

It comes in Sunrise Orange, and sports a premium leather back and metal ring design.

Users can expect up to three days of battery life thanks to the phone’s large 5,800mAh battery. The HONOR X9b also comes with 20GB RAM and 256GB internal storage with UFS 3.1, which provides storage optimised for 5G devices.

Other notable features include its 1.5k resolution high-brightness eye protection screen, 108MP ultra clear camera and Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 4nm processor.

FLAGSHIP FEATURES MEET DURABILITY

The HONOR X9b offers flagship-level specs and toughness from all angles, making it one of the most desirable smartphones within its price segment.

It will launch officially in Malaysia on Nov 1, with an Early Bird Special from Oct 27 to 31 on HONOR’s official website and offline stores.

Customers can pay a RM9 deposit to lock in their purchase in advance and enjoy premium free gifts, including 365 Days Front & Back Crack Replacement as well as a chance to win cashback up to RM1,500.
