MTsN 7 Jakarta Wins 10 Medals at South East Asia Olympiad Championship Event in Malaysia

MTsN 7 Jakarta won 10 medals in the South East Asia Olympiad championship event organized by UiTM (University Teknologi Mara) and UNISZA (University Sultan Zainal Abidin) Malaysia on the recommendation of the Terengganu State Education Department (Jabatan Pendidikan Negeri Terengganu) Malaysia. This activity took place on 19-25 October 2024.

Participants from MTsN 7 Jakarta who participated in the South East Asia Olympiad Championship event numbered fifteen people and managed to get 10 medals, consisting of 2 gold medals from the Speech competition (English Speech) won by Muhammad Fadhlan Zaid class 82, and the Story Telling competition (Storytelling in English) class 81 on behalf of Javeline Kenzie HauraZuhda class 81, the bronze medal was won in the speech competition by participants from MTsN 7 Jakarta namely Giovann Ghassani Setiawan class 71, Pevita Khasani class 81, and Azizah Abira class 91, Meanwhile for the Mathematics Olympiad competition branch, the silver medal was won by Daffa Pramadhika class 82 and the Bronze medal by Muhammad Fadhlan Zaid, and English Proficiency got a silver medal by Javeline Kenzie HauraZuhda and the bronze medal was won by Almira Azalia class 81, so that the total medals won by MTsN 7 Jakarta amounted to 10 medals.

“I am touched and proud to see the achievements of MTsN 7 Jakarta students in Malaysia,” said Lebeng as the Head of MTsN 7 Jakarta who also attended the competition event in Malaysia.

Meanwhile, Javeline, who won a gold medal in storytelling, also said, “I didn’t expect to win because there were quite a lot of participants and their performances were also good.”

Participants from MTsN 7 Jakarta spent one week in Malaysia, in addition to participating in various competitions and olympiads, also participated in various activities that had been arranged by the committee, other activities such as student exchange and also workshops at the University of Technology Mara (UiTM) and Sultan Zainal Abidin University Terengganu Malaysia.

“We gained a lot of experience in this event,” said Fadhlan, who won a gold medal in the speech competition. Meanwhile, Hafidz said, “Although I have not been lucky enough to get a medal, I definitely gained a lot of experience in this event.”

“This is the first time that MTsN 7 Jakarta students have participated in the South East Asia Olympiad Championship event held in Malaysia, but thank God the achievements they have achieved are satisfactory,” said Kartini as the accompanying teacher.
