Malaysians have been left chuckling at a high end Versace shirt that looks little different from the uniform of a popular local restaurant chain.
The designer shirt, priced 1,100 euros (around $1,200), was said to share similarities with the staff uniform of Nasi Kandar Pelita, Malaysia’s largest restaurant chain that sells nasi kandar, a local dish, reported The Strait Times.
“Anyone who wants to get the shirt from Nasi Kandar Pelita, you can get it at Versace,” TikToker Afif Sukhairi joked in a video showing the designer shirt, in blue and yellow colors.
Many netizens have had the same idea, as the blue and yellow shades featured on the luxury brand’s design were very close to those used in the staff uniform of the chain.
There have been many online jokes, with many saying that those wearing the Versace shirt should not go for dinner at the restaurant lest they be mistaken for staff.
Others ironically praised Nasi Kandar Pelita’s owners for issuing their employees with outfits from such a luxury brand.
Versace is an Italian luxury fashion brand founded by Gianni Versace in the 1970s, famed for its bold styling and prints.
