The 2024 ASEAN Cup will be Vicente’s last stage with the Malaysian National Team as he will part ways with Harimau Malaya after the tournament.
The Spanish coach was forced to face this situation following the new structure of the national team which is expected to be announced this month.
However, Vicente hopes for a surprise to achieve brilliant achievements at the 2024 ASEAN Cup following a number of obstacles or challenges currently being experienced by Harimau Malaya.
“This is a dream, a dream for all Malaysians and also for me and the players,” Vicente was quoted as saying by SuperBall.id from Bharian.com.my.
“We know it’s difficult, we’re struggling to get a squad, the league is still going on, it’s difficult for clubs to let players go.”
“But we understand the club’s situation because they also have to play.”
“So, we have limited options, but we want to go as far as possible in the ASEAN Cup.”
“I think the players are very motivated. We have a mixed squad with some experienced players in the team and also young players.”
