Giorgio Meloni officially becomes Italy’s Prime Minister

The leader of the “Brothers of Italy” party, George Meloni, has officially become the first female Prime Minister of Italy in history, reports RIA Novosti.

The head of the former government of Italy, Mario Draghi, on Sunday handed over to the new Prime Minister, George Meloni, the bell with which the meetings of the Council of Ministers are opened.

45 years old George Meloni was born in Rome (Italy). She received a special education in the field of linguistics at the Amerigo Vespucci Institute in Rome (graduated in 1996), and was engaged in journalism. Speaks English, Spanish and French.

At the beginning of the week, the government of 24 ministers must pass the approval procedure in parliament, after which it will be able to start working in full.

Following the results of the parliamentary elections on September 25 in Italy, the center-right coalition won, consisting of the “Brothers of Italy”, the League and “Forward, Italy”, whose representatives entered the new government.
