Inter airport Southeast Asia, an exhibition and conference for airport innovation and technology in Asia will be held again on 25-27 March 2025 at Marina Bay Sands. This 8th event is expected to bring together more than 3,500 representatives from the aviation industry in Asia.

In addition, it is expected to be attended by influential figures from the airport and airline communities, as well as more than 150 exhibitors, including solution providers and airport equipment suppliers.

As the aviation industry advances and new airport projects and investments surge around the world, innovation is critical to driving transformation. The discussion themed “Airport Operations for the Future” will explore innovation, technology and sustainable solutions to optimize terminal and runway operations in the future.

Asia is the main driver of airport projects. It is estimated that around 564 million visitors will visit Asia Pacific. Therefore, this region is a prime location for airport development and is the region that will lead the recovery in aviation.

Asia Pacific currently has 575 airport projects including existing and new airports estimated to be worth around US$488 billion. Meanwhile, investment in existing airports amounts to 170 projects, worth US$217 billion.

Thailand is one of the fastest growing aviation markets in Asia-Pacific. Passenger volumes are expected to double by 2032, and Thailand will be among the top 10 markets in terms of passenger traffic by 2042.

To manage the increasing passenger capacity, Thai authorities have developed a strategic plan including the construction of new airports, expansion of existing facilities, and increasing the capacity of key infrastructure to accommodate 240 million annual passengers (MAP) by 2032.

“To make Thailand a regional aviation hub , and to bring Suvarnabhumi International Airport into the top ranks of airports by 2037, major investments will be made to acquire automated technology and biometric identification systems that will help reduce the processing time of international passengers.

According to Airports Council International (ACI), global passenger volumes are expected to reach 9.5 billion in 2024, while the Asia-Pacific region is said to lead year-on-year (YoY) growth in 2024, with an increase of 13%, reaching 3.4 billion passengers by the end of the year.

Air travel plays a vital role in global trade and tourism, therefore the sector must adopt innovative approaches to build better and more
reliable airports.

Inter airport Southeast Asia 2025 will focus on global and regional solutions that can support airport technology in improving operational efficiency and providing greener solutions for ground operations to reduce carbon emissions.
