The Czech Republic sent a rescue team including firefighters to Turkey, after it was hit by a devastating earthquake that caused hundreds of victims.
The 68-strong rescue team, which includes a construction engineer and a doctor, as well as search dogs, headed to Turkey on Monday, after the country accepted an offer of help.
The team includes firefighters from Prague and Moravia-Silesia, according to Radio Prague International’s website.
It was confirmed that a group of Czech citizens were present in one of the Turkish provinces hit by the earthquake.
According to the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs, they are safe and are being contacted by the Czech Embassy in Ankara
